Right Reverend Arthur N. Barrymore is the Bishop we are under.
Father Barrymore’s dedication to his ministry as Rector at St. Edward’s enabled his parish to grow in spirituality and in number. Part of his responsibilities as Archdeacon is the care of the clergy and parishes in the Diocese of America.
Father Barrymore is an experienced parish priest having served in several churches in the South of England. He was a hospital chaplain and became the director and chaplain for the deaf and deaf/blind in Sussex. He has also served in several churches in the United States.
He trained for the priesthood with the Society of the Sacred Mission monastic order, in South Africa and in England. He obtained a diploma of Theology from the University of London, England, and was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood in Guildford Cathedral, Surrey, England in 1968. Father Barrymore was awarded the Diploma in Deafness and Sign Language by the Council for the Ministry for Deaf People at Westminster in London, England.
